What a Fantastic Season the Arrows have had this year dominating the U11 A League.

The Arrows put on a Winning streak of 17 games our only loss coming very early in the first half of the season.

A quick recap of the first half of the season saw us with 7 wins and 1 loss in the league and winning both 1st, 2nd and Quarter Final Rounds of the cup.

With Christmas and New Year out the way the boys continued with some brilliant football cutting open defences with their attacking football but taking note about not conceding keeping 8 clean sheets out of 10 games and in the other 2 games only conceding 1 goal in each. The boys came up against all sorts of opposition from quick attacking teams to strong defensive teams but they adapted their game to challenge all of them.

The second half of the season saw us with 10 wins (one awarded) and 1 draw in the league and a win in the Semi Final of the cup to set up the Final against Ascot on May 2nd.

So the onto the boys -

This year they have really listened in training and worked hard on fitness. They have practiced their set pieces and used them to full effect in games. Most of all, they have worked as a team - the effort put in by all of them is what has achieved these fantastic results with defenders getting forward to score goals and strikers tracking back to clear off the line, It has been a credit to work with them.

The main positions the boys have played this year

Goalies - Billy, George and Max

Defenders - Tom, Dan, Matthew and Max

Midfield - Connor , Guy, Max, Billy, Matthew, George

Strikers - Connor, Connor

Assists Total Goals
Billy  13 4
Connor 15 63
Dan 9 7
George   3
Guy 11 7
Connor Hay 32 27
Matthew 2 4
Max 6 1
Tom 5 2

Top scorer's  Connor Hall with 63 goals followed by Connor  with 27  and then Dan and Guy on 7
Top Assist’s Connor  with 32 , Connor Hall 15 and then Billy 13.
Billy -  Worked hard as the Goalie this year using his big kicks to great effect - When he gets onto the pitch his corners will always be a danger

Tom - Has been brilliant at the back this year - Always determined and strong - His wing back abilities have caused many teams problems

Dan - Reliable and quick - He has slotted into the terminator role fantastically and dominated the central midfield.

Matthew -  Has played in Midfield and Defence - strong in the tackle and has rifle shot

George - Playing in midfield has worked hard , his jockeying skills are excellent and his goal kicks have really come on.

Connor -  Big, Strong and Skilful will attack at pace and has created lots of goals this year

Max - Works hard in defence and uses his skill to pass players when in the midfield

Guy - A real workhorse - Has developed his corner kicks to real effect.

Connor  - A deadly striker that will chase every ball, works hard and motivates the team.

What more can I can say the boys really have been a pleasure to work with and have produced some outstanding football. I have seen so many highlights this year it is difficult to narrow it down  - Headed goals, Goalie saves, Line clearances and dribble runs have all been great.
But I must mention a few highlights -

Tommy's wing back runs have been a pleasure to watch as he steams forward.

Goal of the season for me came in the Sandhurst Eagles match - Where George passed to  Billy crossed to Hayhow  who passed to Connor who netted. A fantastic show of passing football.

Connor Hall's Attempt at being goalie - With some great diving saves.

Max's dummies and Ronaldo style dives ....
Guys shock at delivering a perfect Corner and George's joy as he finally netted for the Arrows.

Connor substitution in the Puma's game and his fantastic half way goal .

Billy's save against Ascot and his first headed goal.

Matthew's 2 rifle volley's that were only going one place - the back of the net .

Oh and our ability to score OWN goals !!!

Finally I would like to Thank MARK for his efforts over the past few years to get the boys to this level - You have done a great job.
Colin for being our Ref and Fitness coach

Laura for sending in results

And of course all the parents for getting the boys to training, matches and for cheering in the rain and sun.

These boys have done so well over the past 4 years ( Exception Dan who joined us last year and Connor who joined us 2 seasons ago) They have won the Fair play award, a Cup Final, the league, lots of Tournaments and have another shot at a Cup this week. It has been a great achievement , they have had their ups and downs but always played with Smiles on their faces. They have entertained us as Parents on Saturday mornings and I hope they will continue that in the new format of 11 a side next year at Binfield albeit not as the Arrows

WELL DONE ARROWS
